The CRYC mission is to promote sailing and
seamanship to the local community on and around the Corsica River.
Our Junior Sailing Program is a major aspect of this mission and
teaches children and young adults how to sail and improve their
sailing skills through a safe, structured, and fun environment. The
Corsica River offers wonderful environment for sailing and racing.
Come down and visit our site and you'll be eager to sign your
children up for our Program.
We are located at 589 Conquest Road, Centreville, MD on a beautiful
waterfront venue known as Ship Point. We have a pavilion with
his/her bathrooms and two water access points. The west beach is
shallow and perfect for launching our Optimist fleet as well as for
just swimming or playing in the water. Our south beach has a 100
foot pier and is where we keep our 420 fleet and safety boats.
Check out our sailing program and we look forward to teaching your
children how to sail as well as improving their skills so they may
race competitively against other sailors.
Junior Sailing Director
Stephanie, a fourth grade teacher in
Dorchester County, is excited to switch gears from
teaching in the classroom and get back on the water with
the sailors this summer! After coaching sailing in New
Jersey at Bay Head Yacht Club and more locally at Tred
Avon Yacht Club she is eager to transition to
instruction at Corsica River Yacht Club. She grew up
sailing out of Lavallette Yacht Club and has been
involved in sailing in the BBYRA in E-Scows, M-Scows,
and Sandpipers for many years now. She had the
opportunity to sail in the Jr. Women’s Single-Handed
Championship Leiter Cup for two years and sailed FJs and
420s while on Salisbury University’s sailing team. This
summer she hopes the sailors get to see why sailing and
spending time on the water are such passions of hers.
